A year of drought and dryness.

I shared in my previous post on how God has tremendously and awesomely orchestrated His plans for me. I cannot merely comprehend each and every blessing that He has given me. I always continue to share to other people that tithing was my secret but it doesn’t just end there. We must realized that God can gives us everything that we need but not everything that we want. God sees our hearts and He knows our good and bad desires.

There was a time in my life that I worry so much about my future, career, lifestyle and money. I thought that these things are the most important aspects of life in order for me to define success. But with this kind of perspective brought more STRESS and WORRIES in my life (that’s why my hairline is getting higher :D ). I’m not saying that these thing are not important but there are other things that are more valuable than future, career, money and food.  I really valued money a lot but things have change when God is valued more than money.

Jeremiah 17:5-9 says,

5 This is what the LORD says:

   “Cursed is the one who trusts in man,
who draws strength from mere flesh
and whose heart turns away from the LORD.
6 That person will be like a bush in the wastelands;
they will not see prosperity when it comes.
They will dwell in the parched places of the desert,
in a salt land where no one lives.

7 “But blessed is the one who trusts in the LORD,
whose confidence is in him.
8 They will be like a tree planted by the water
that sends out its roots by the stream.
It does not fear when heat comes;
its leaves are always green.
It has no worries in a year of drought
and never fails to bear fruit.”

One of my weaknesses in my walk with God is that if I didn’t get my hearts desire I tend to turn away from Him. I EASILY forget all the blessings that He gave me and I sin. Life depending on human perspective stirs up selfish desires that results to uncontentment. Prosperity will come but I will not see it because my heart doesn’t depend on God. No matter how many millions of pesos that pass through my hands, my heart will never be satisfied and will desire for more money.

God’s perspective of prosperity defines on trust and confidence alone. He is the source of all our wealth and money therefore He just wants us to be planted in HIM. A faith as small as a mustard seed will do. If we place God’s value higher than any other things we will not worry in a single moment. We will do still feel the drought but He promises us that we will never fail to bear fruit.
